Radio and Media Positions Available
Waringarri Media – Kununurra
Start your media career at home in the East Kimberley!
Waringarri Media is seeking enthusiastic, entry-level Radio and Media Trainees to help create, present, and share stories from local people, places, and communities.
This is a great opportunity to gain real-world experience in radio, media and broadcasting. No prior media experience is required, on-the-job training will be provided.
Positions will be filled by the end of July 2026, with flexible start dates available.

Waringarri Radio 6WR is a successful, locally owned, not-for-profit organisation that has been in operation for 39 years. Waringarri Radio is East Kimberley’s number one radio station, known for its support of the culture, tradition, and language of our local region. We broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week across the East Kimberley, reaching major towns, remote communities and thousands of loyal listeners.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
| Role Purpose | Use an understanding of Indigenous culture, people, and community to support the media tasks of Waringarri MediaHelp create radio programs, interviews, advertisements, podcasts, videos, photography and social media content that celebrates the people and communities of the East Kimberley. |
| Role Requirements | Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new technologyGood reading and writing skillsConfidence speaking with peopleWillingness to present and record things like news, weather, interviews, and voice pieces |

We have multiple openings and are flexible with scheduling. Please specify your preference in your application:
- Full-Time: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- Part-Time: Set rostered days. Minimum 24 hours per week.
- Casual: Flexible rostered hours to produce regular media content and support key broadcast times.
