WHY WE ARE HOLDING THIS EVENT
This was the first all-indigenous community forum in the East Kimberley for many years. Each panellist presented their perspectives on their vision for the future of the East Kimberley, and how local mob can prosper, socially and economically.
We hope this starts a conversation on the path to forging a collective blak vision for the region and how to realise this vision.
It aimed to foster greater collaboration among Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), government agencies and others, to work more closely together on their shared visions.
We hope it also leads to more succession planning within local ACCOs and the region to support the next generation of First Nations leaders.
