Bringing the East Kimberley
•••Together•••

Waringarri Media Aboriginal Corporation operates the East Kimberley’s only locally based radio station and media organisation. We are WA’s oldest Aboriginal community radio station, that is proudly Indigenous owned and serving the whole region.

We broadcast out of our studios in Kununurra for a 300km radius to major towns, remote grazing stations, and outback communities across the WA and NT border region on 693AM and soon 102.1FM.

Waringarri Media plays a vital role in keeping the local community informed, with a high visibility covering regional news and events, online audio and video streaming, and a strong social media presence.

Our Shows

Waringarri Media is the region’s leading source of local news and information, music and entertainment. Our morning talk shows keep our local community informed and stimulated with interviews, local views and perspectives. This is sprinkled with a great mix of music, playing classic and new rock hits and popular music. We also play the best of country and Indigenous artists from across the Kimberley and Australia.

See Programs and Schedule for more information about all of our shows.

Please let's all do the right thing - put your garbage in the bin. Take it with you when you're out on country. Let's keep our Kimberley beautiful! JOIN the BIG CLEAN-UP on Friday 8, Saturday 9, Sunday 10 March, 2024. Scotty spoke with Peter Griffiths-Sebastian from Pete's Cultural Adventures and Steve from Silent Tours, about a big clean-up of country they're planning. It's taking place on the weekend of the 8th 9th and 10th of March 2024. LISTEN HERE: https://soundcloud.com/waringarri-media/scotty-with-pete-steve-on-big-clean-up-in-knx Pete and Steve have been concerned about the issue of rubbish on country and have decided to rally the community behind this big clean-up, and hope it will help inform/educate more people. It comes after many recent posts on local online community boards on the problem – claiming that the situation is getting worse. They say it’s shameful and embarrassing when they take tourists out on country to see so much rubbish, and Pete says it hurts him to see it as a proud Miriwoong man, and it pains local elders.
